Wetland Delineation and Mitigation

When wetlands exist on your property or work site, you need to know the true edge of those wetlands, and you need a plan. The Army Corps of Engineers regulates wetlands nationally, and state and local governments further regulate the definitions of wetlands, and what you can and can't do with them.

I can delineate your wetland, identify soil types, plant species and hydrology, and I can work with you to form a plan for the use of your land. If you have already damaged a wetland, or must enter a wetland as part of your project, I can work with the government agencies to mitigate the impact. This is done by creating new wetland, preserving an existing wetland, or by funding a government project to work with a wetland off your property.

Water table and soil temperature monitoring over time may move the apparent boundary of a flood plain in your favor. I can set up and document these monitoring methods at your site. I can also monitor and document mitigation projects as required by the agencies involved.

I will respond quickly to your request for a delineation, and will work with my surveyor or yours to create a plat showing the usable areas of your property. I will submit the report directly to you, and explain the science used to generate the report, as well as work with you throughout your project to insure the smooth progress of your project. I am happy to work with private parties, utilities, and government agencies. I will travel outside my home area as needed.
