Aluminum Docks Built to Last

Wood docks have a tendency to warp, rot and pull apart. Steel docks rust no matter how many times you paint them because of the penetrations caused by fasteners. At James Guy LLC, we construct aluminum-framed docks which are weatherproof and built much stronger than they need to be for everyday use. This enables them to withstand impacts, extreme weather and constant movement. We use composite decking that is splinter-free, durable and easy to clean. You never need to sand, paint or repair damage caused by weather. Your children can run and play on our docks without any fear of splinters.

Our boat docks are delivered completely assembled so you don’t have to worry about a long construction process at your site. We simply float the sections onto your waterway and insert hinge pins to assemble the sections and motor the dock to your site. Once in position, our docks are held in place using weighted ramp sections sitting on adjustable feet. No pilings or concrete foundations are required.

Aluminum Docks Built for Your Specific Needs

Every dock is designed for the site where it will be used and built specifically for that site. Whether your site has drastic water level changes, current, waves, wind or tricky terrain, your dock will be built to stand up to weather, water and use. Slips, boat lifts, swim ladders, whip cleats, lighting and other accessories can be installed to your specifications. Because our docks use a standardized hinge assembly, you can order additional sections of dock and have them installed at any time.

Aluminum Docks are Green

Not only are our docks extremely durable, which prevents them from turning to garbage that must be replaced, they are also very eco-friendly. Pressure treated wood leaches toxins into the water until the wood is unprotected and rots. Foam floats break apart and pollute the waterways and ocean. Corrosive metals put pollutants into the water until they eventually fail. Paint peels off and needs to be re-done which causes spills into the water. Our docks show up clean, are very inert and never pollute the water with toxins.

Aluminum is 57% recycled, is extremely durable and never requires paint. I use 100% recycled polyethylene floats from the beverage industry and will always be available in the unlikely event they will need to be replaced. The decking is made from composites that are nearly 100% post consumer material. All fasteners used are stainless steel, continue to look new and will never have to be replaced. NO part of our docks needs to be painted. With our lifetime guarantee, the only thing you need to do is mop your dock clean.

Trails and Foot Bridges

I have also built a number of trails and foot bridges. One of my foot bridges is a 60 foot span located across a class 4 rapid at Pringle Falls on the Deschutes. Bridges and elevated walkways provide access across waterways and wetlands with a minimal impact on the wetland and wildlife. My docks, elevated walkways and bridges provide safe access as well as uninterrupted passage for fish and animals. The agencies responsible for permitting boat docks, trails and bridges are very reasonable as long as they can see that care is being taken to preserve the historical state of the wetland locations where they are replaced. They also realize that these structures are preferable to just slogging through the mud, which causes lasting damage to wetlands.

I can help you gain access to the wetland areas of your property with maximum comfort and safety, and with minimal impact.
